One week after Fay, and my area of the county is under a Flood Warning. I've not actually seen any flooding myself since Friday night, when the road to my mother's house was half under water. This morning when I woke up I had cable TV, but no internet. The little green lights on the modem were all dead. I dutifully unplugged everything and plugged it all back in again, but had no luck. So I called Comcast, and they couldn't even find my modem when they sent a signal. The tech said it was one of two things. Either my modem had gone bad, ( Read more... )

Well, Fay has come and gone, and I'm still here. It's still raining, and my backyard no longer exists in grass form. It has become a lake. It started raining last night and simply hasn't stopped since.
